Biography
Anthony J. Agnone is one of the longest-serving NFL player representatives in professional football, having been certified as an NFLPA Contract Advisor since 1984. He is the founder and president of Eastern Athletic Services (EAS), a full-service sports representation firm that advises professional football players, coaches, and broadcasters on contract negotiations, career development, endorsements, and related business matters.
Agnone earned his undergraduate degree from Mount St. Mary's University and later attended the University of Baltimore, where he pursued his legal education. His legal background has complemented a sports representation career that spans more than four decades. Throughout that time, he has negotiated NFL player and coaching contracts while providing strategic guidance on financial, marketing, and post-career planning matters.
In 1978, Agnone founded Eastern Athletic Services with the goal of representing athletes and sports professionals throughout their careers. According to public profiles and industry sources, EAS has represented clients ranging from undrafted free agents to first-round NFL draft selections, including Pro Bowl players, Hall of Famers, NFL head coaches, assistant coaches, and broadcasters. The firm has also been involved in negotiating precedent-setting contracts within the football industry.
Agnone is widely recognized within the sports law and athlete representation communities. He is a former President of the Sports Lawyers Association and has served on its Board of Directors. He has also spent more than two decades as an adjunct faculty member at the University of Baltimore School of Law, lecturing on sports law, contract negotiation, and athlete representation. In addition, he has served as an expert witness in matters involving professional sports employment and player injury disputes.
