Derek Cox is an NFLPA-certified contract advisor and former NFL cornerback affiliated with Purladest Sports, where he represents professional football players and advises athletes on contract negotiations and career development. He became certified in 2022 and operates from Southern California. He also serves in sports marketing and management through his personal consulting platform, drawing on both his playing and business experience. Before becoming an agent, Cox enjoyed a six-year NFL career after being selected by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the third round of the 2009 NFL Draft out of the College of William & Mary. He later played for the San Diego Chargers, Minnesota Vikings, Baltimore Ravens, and New England Patriots, finishing his career with 13 interceptions and establishing himself as a dependable NFL defensive back.
