John Thornton is a former NFL defensive lineman and NFLPA-certified sports agent who currently serves as a Co-Head of Football at Roc Nation Sports, where he plays a senior leadership role within the agency’s NFL representation division. After a ten-year professional playing career in the NFL, he transitioned into sports management and athlete representation, leveraging his on-field experience to guide players through contract negotiations and career development. Thornton played collegiate football at West Virginia University, where he was a standout defensive lineman and earned recognition as a team leader and All-American performer. He went on to be drafted into the NFL and spent his professional career with teams including the Tennessee Titans and Cincinnati Bengals, where he served as a defensive captain and contributed across multiple seasons as a consistent starter and rotational leader on the defensive line. His playing career included playoff appearances and a Super Bowl berth, giving him extensive firsthand experience in high-level professional football environments. After retiring from professional football, Thornton entered the sports representation industry and became certified as an NFLPA agent.
