Biography
C. Lamont Smith is an American sports agent, attorney, and entrepreneur and the founder of All Pro Sports & Entertainment (APSE), one of the longest-standing independent sports representation firms in the United States. He built APSE into a full-service athlete management company representing professional football players, coaches, and entertainment clients, with a focus on contract negotiation, marketing, and long-term career development.
Smith established All Pro Sports & Entertainment in 1987, launching the agency as a minority-owned sports representation firm that would go on to become widely recognized within the NFL agent industry for its influence and client success. Over his career, he has been involved in negotiating major NFL contracts and representing high-profile players, including Pro Bowl and Hall of Fame-level talent, contributing to landmark deals that shaped player compensation standards during his era.
Before founding APSE, Smith completed a legal education and worked in sports marketing and legal environments, developing expertise in contract law and athlete representation strategy. His background as an attorney provided the foundation for his transition into sports agency work, where he combined legal training with negotiation expertise to advocate for professional athletes in high-value contract discussions.
