Biography
A native of Toronto, Canada, Mike Simonetta is a lawyer and NBPA Certified Agent who joined Life Sports Agency with several years of basketball experience across all levels. Mike represents several of Life Sports’ NBA clients, including Olivier-Maxence Prosper, the 24th overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft, and Ajay Mitchell, the 38th overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft. In his role at Life Sports, his responsibilities include on and off court contract negotiation, legal consultation, career development planning, and licensing.
Prior to joining Life Sports, Mike was heavily involved in the Canadian grassroots basketball landscape, serving as Associate Director of the Northern Kings AAU Program for 5 years and also as the director of basketball for the Bill Crothers Prep School Program, helping over 50 student-athletes attain NCAA scholarships during that time. Mike also co-founded the Drive For Dreams Foundation, a non-profit charity that provides funding for academic and athletic programming for at-risk youth in Toronto. In these roles, he was primarily responsible for college placement, fundraising, and mentorship.
Mike is a law school graduate from the Dual J.D. Program at the University of Windsor and University of Detroit Mercy School of Law. The Dual JD program is the only program in North America that allows students to obtain a Canadian and American law degree in three years. During law school, he was a member of the sports law society along with being a contributor to the Windsor Law Review. Mike spent his undergrad at Western University, where he earned an Honors Business Degree with a specialization in Marketing. He was a member of the Men’s Basketball Program and an executive Member of the school’s sports law society.
