Biography

Ricardo Jackman is an NFL Players Association (NFLPA) Certified Contract Advisor, attorney, and partner at Morris, Manning & Martin LLP, where he serves as Chair of the firm's Sports & Entertainment Practice. With more than two decades of experience in sports and entertainment law, he represents professional football players, student-athletes, coaches, entertainers, and sports-related businesses. His practice focuses on contract negotiation, athlete representation, business transactions, endorsement agreements, and long-term career strategy across multiple levels of professional football. Before joining Morris, Manning & Martin in 2023, Jackman co-chaired the Sports & Entertainment Practice Group at Ballard Spahr. Earlier in his career, he practiced at Shulman Rogers, founded his own law firm, and served as Assistant General Counsel in the District of Columbia Office of Personnel. Throughout his legal career, he has negotiated business transactions and sports-related agreements valued in the hundreds of millions of dollars, earning a reputation for advising clients on complex commercial and contractual matters. Jackman has developed particular expertise in Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) representation, advising student-athletes, educational institutions, and sports organizations on the evolving legal and commercial landscape of collegiate athletics. In addition to representing NFL players, he has negotiated contracts involving the Canadian Football League (CFL), United Football League (formerly XFL and USFL), and other professional football organizations, giving him broad experience across the professional football industry.
