Sean Howard is an NFL Players Association (NFLPA) Certified Contract Advisor with more than two decades of experience in professional football, combining a background in player personnel, legal training, and athlete representation. Certified as an NFL agent since 2005, he has built a career representing NFL players in contract negotiations, career planning, and long-term professional development. Throughout his career, Howard has worked with several prominent sports agencies, including Octagon, Vanguard Sports, MGC Sports, and Roc Nation Sports, where he has advised athletes through every stage of their professional careers. Howard's football background began as a collegiate linebacker at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), where he developed a strong understanding of the game from a player's perspective. He later earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Oregon School of Law, combining his legal education with his passion for sports to pursue a career in athlete representation. Before becoming an NFL agent, he worked in player personnel with the San Francisco 49ers, gaining valuable front-office experience in player evaluation, roster construction, and team operations that has informed his approach to contract negotiations and client advocacy. After beginning his agent career with Octagon, Howard founded PRIME Athletes before joining Vanguard Sports as Director of Football Operations. He later served as Senior Contract Consultant for MGC Sports, where he was part of the representation team for first overall NFL Draft pick Trevor Lawrence. In 2021, he joined Roc Nation Sports, bringing his extensive experience in football operations, legal negotiations, and player representation to one of the industry's leading sports agencies. Throughout his career, he has represented and advised numerous NFL players, including Pro Bowl and All-Pro talent, while helping clients navigate contract negotiations, endorsements, and career management.
